Milk Cooling Tanks

Cooling tanks are available in vertical and horizontal shapes. From 200L to 10,000L. Milk is the raw material for many products.

There are many types of bacteria in the micro flora of the milk and they can negatively affect the quality of the milk. In technological aspect, treatment of milks that have high bacterial concentration becomes difficult and the quality of the obtained products drops significantly.

Numerous factors from the health condition of the animal, from which the milk is originated, to the moment the milk is converted into final product or delivered to consumers affect the quality of the milk.

Cooling tanks that are used in cold chain are intended to prevent development not elimination of bacteria. Development of bacteria may be prevented with equipment that provide hygienic milking of the milk, measuring of the milk, transporting of the milk and cooling of the milk.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT BACTERIA MULTIPLICATION SHOULD BE INHIBITED/STOPPED BY REDUCING THE TEMPERATURE OF MILK TO 4°C WITHIN THE FIRST 3 HOURS OF MILKING.

Most significant advantage that is provided by cooling the milk to the user; is intended to store the milk that is not heat treated in a healthy way by keeping the rapidly developing number of microorganisms at same level during milking and transporting the milk.

Classification of milk Cooling Tanks is done in three ways as indicated below;

a) Class 2 Milking Tanks; cools the 50% of the capacity at once.

b) Class 4 Milking Tanks; cools the 25% of the capacity at once.

c) Class 6 Milking Tanks; cools the 16.7% of the capacity at once.

a) Class 0 Takes 2hrs to cool milk from initial temperature to 4°C

b) Class I Takes 2.5hrs to cool milk from initial temperature to 4°C

c) Class II Takes 3hrs to cool milk from initial temperature to 4°C

d) Class III Takes 3.5hrs to cool milk from initial temperature to 4°C

a) Class A Performance Temperature is 38°C; Safe Operation Temperature is 42°C

b) Class B Performance Temperature is 32°C; Safe Operation Temperature is 38°C

c) Class C Performance Temperature is 25°C; Safe Operation Temperature is 32°C

From the above classification, the most efficient and thus suitable solution for optimum performance and values for money is CLASS 2 B II. ALL our milk coolers meet this criteria.
