Spray races are used to periodically treat cattle against ticks, flies and other external parasites. The spray race must not be built close to water sources as these may become contaminated by run-off from the sump. The walls must be built across the direction of the prevailing wind and the spray race should be roofed. There must be a footbath before the entrance to the race as some of the factors to be considered.
